Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has launched a scathing attack on self-styled activist Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, accusing him of manipulating Nigerians over the death of singer Mohbad.
In a recent video broadcast, the 'Zazu' crooner criticized VeryDarkMan for continuously stirring controversies around Mohbad's death, which occurred in September 2023 under highly controversial circumstances.
"VeryDarkMan, you came out deceiving Nigerians that you want justice for Mohbad. You're a manipulator. Now, you're dragging Iyabo Ojo. What's really her offense?" Portable questioned in the video.
The controversial singer expressed concern over what he perceives as VeryDarkMan's shifting stance on the Mohbad case. "You claimed you want justice for Mohbad, so why are you now going against Mohbad? Leave Mohbad and let him rest in peace. Why are you dragging the dead?" he asked.
Portable further accused VeryDarkMan of making contradictory statements about Mohbad's death. "You are the one who first alleged that Mohbad was killed by some certain people, and you're now making a U-turn," he stated.
The singer also defended actress Iyabo Ojo, who has been a target of VeryDarkMan's criticism, suggesting that it is VeryDarkMan, not Ojo, who is jeopardizing the 'Justice for Mohbad' campaign.
"Are you the one who will tell Nigerians who is good or not? We know people who are good people. We also know the people who bullied Mohbad. Stop deceiving Nigerians," Portable concluded.
This latest controversy adds to the ongoing tensions surrounding Mohbad's death investigation, which has captured significant public attention in Nigeria's entertainment industry.
The feud between Portable and VeryDarkMan has intensified in recent months, with reports indicating that boxing promoter Soso Soberekon had previously offered N120 million for a boxing match between the two personalities.
