Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has launched a scathing response against social media activist VeryDarkMan, following his claims that she reneged on an agreement to publicly apologize to Naira Marley and Sam Larry regarding statements made in the aftermath of singer Mohbad's death.
According to VeryDarkMan, the alleged agreement was reached during a roundtable discussion at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NCCC), where Iyabo Ojo, Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and Tonto Dikeh were present alongside their legal representatives.
In her response, Ojo vehemently dismissed these allegations, describing VeryDarkMan as manipulative, cunning, and deceitful. She defended her previous statements against Naira Marley and Sam Larry, citing what she believed were legitimate concerns about their alleged involvement in Mohbad's death.
"VeryDarkMan, I saw your video, and I know why you made those videos. I'm sure the NCCC has called to tell you that I've petitioned them, so you had to come out and do your normal manipulative tactics," Ojo stated.
The mother of two explained that her concerns were triggered by disturbing videos that emerged following Mohbad's passing, including footage allegedly showing Sam Larry mocking the late singer and instances of physical assault. These materials, she claimed, led her to believe the bullying accusations against the parties involved.
"I am a very wise woman. I know when to fight, when to listen and when to speak, unlike you who speak from both sides of the mouth and people should stop taking you seriously," she added, addressing VeryDarkMan directly.
Ojo further clarified that she had been invited by the NCCC while she was preparing to travel to Tanzania for her daughter Priscilla's wedding. She mentioned that prior to the controversy, she had never met Naira Marley in person and had only helped promote his songs on her platform.
"I saw a video of Naira Marley dancing after Mohbad's death. I was angry. I also saw Sam Larry's video where he harassed Zlatan Ibile and Mohbad. That was when I believed the bullying allegations. As a concerned citizen and mother, I used my platforms," she explained.
This public dispute adds another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding the circumstances of Mohbad's death, which has captured significant public attention in Nigeria's entertainment industry.
