May Edochie has revealed the unexpected circumstances of her first meeting with estranged husband and Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, sharing that they met at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre during their university days.
Speaking during a recent lifestyle podcast, May disclosed that their paths crossed long before fame and marriage entered the picture, contradicting assumptions that they might have met in glamorous settings.
"Way back in school when I went to the East for my university, I'm a bookworm. It's always been about books for me. We didn't meet at a party or any glamorous settings, we met at a GCE centre," she revealed.
The mother of three explained that she had just relocated from Lagos to pursue her degree at Enugu State University when their paths crossed. At that time, Yul was studying at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
May described herself during that period as an academically driven young woman, emphasizing that education has always been a priority in her life.
This revelation comes amid ongoing public interest in the former couple's relationship, which has made headlines following their separation. May has recently been involved in legal matters, including taking action against Yinka Theisan, demanding N500 million in damages for alleged defamation.
The estranged wife of the Nollywood actor has also reportedly filed a N1 billion lawsuit against her former lawyer, Ugwuonye, over alleged cyberbullying and defamation.
