Hon. Chief Bright Igodo Ogaji, a former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial aspirant in the 2023 elections, has expressed confidence that former Senate President, Senator David Mark, will lead the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to victory in the 2027 general elections.

Ogaji, who also endorsed the newly emerged leadership of the party in Benue State, described the development as "a new dawn" for both the state and Nigeria as a whole.

The ADC was officially inaugurated last week in Abuja by major opposition leaders in Nigeria, including defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Mark was appointed as the Interim National Chairman, while former Governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, emerged as the Interim National Secretary.

Following the national launch, the party was subsequently inaugurated in Benue State on Wednesday, taking over the secretariat previously occupied by the PDP. Former Speaker pro tempore of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Terngu Tsegba, and former Member representing Obi/Oju Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Samson Okwu, were appointed as Interim Chairman and Secretary respectively for Benue State.

In a personally signed statement, Chief Ogaji, whose supporters made a strong showing at the Benue launch event, specifically praised Senator Mark's leadership qualities over the years, describing him as a "game-changer."

"The new face of ADC (Senator Mark), no doubt, is a game-changer that has come through a storm to rescue Nigeria from the shackles of oppression, underdevelopment and return Benue and Nigeria to a path of inclusive development, prosperity and pride," Ogaji stated.

He added, "His emergence and those of the Benue leadership, has given birth to a renewed Nigeria destined for growth."

The former Chairman of Oju Local Government Council in Benue State urged all his supporters, both at home and abroad, to rally behind these leaders to make the new party successful for the benefit of Benue people and Nigerians.

The ADC coalition has been gaining momentum as a potential third force in Nigerian politics, with several prominent politicians from both major parties joining its ranks ahead of the 2027 general elections.
