Former Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has weighed in on compatriot Victor Osimhen's potential move to Saudi Arabia, stating that the timing of such a transfer is inconsequential.
Speaking with News Central, Ighalo revealed that Saudi clubs would continue pursuing Osimhen regardless of his current decisions.
"He knows what he wants. We were together two days ago, but we didn't talk about football; we just had fun," Ighalo said about his recent meeting with Osimhen.
"I believe he knows what he wants; he's grown, he's worked hard, and if he calls me for a word, I'll speak from my opinion, but any decision he makes, it's a win-win for him," he added.
Ighalo, who has firsthand experience in the Saudi Pro League having played for Al-Shabab, Al-Hilal, and Al-Wehda, emphasized that Osimhen's options would remain open.
"If he goes to Saudi now, if he doesn't go until two years later, it doesn't matter, because last year they came, he didn't go; they came this year, he's declined; they'll still come again," Ighalo explained.
Osimhen, who recently joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on loan from Napoli, has been the subject of transfer speculation with Saudi clubs reportedly showing interest in the Nigerian striker.
The comments come amid ongoing discussions about the career trajectory of the 25-year-old forward, who has established himself as one of Africa's premier strikers.
