Spanish club Sevilla are looking to offload Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke as part of their summer rebuild, BenriNews reports.
Ejuke, 27, joined the Andalusian club on a free transfer last summer following the expiration of his contract with Russian club CSKA Moscow. However, the Nigerian international has struggled to make a significant impact at the club since his arrival.
Disappointing Season for Ejuke
The winger's time at Sevilla has been hampered by fitness issues, including a hamstring injury that sidelined him for approximately three months. Despite making 25 league appearances for the club, Ejuke managed to score only two goals and provide one assist during the 2024/25 season.
Sevilla, who recently appointed Matias Almeyda as their new head coach and Antonio Cordon as sporting director, appear to be planning a significant squad overhaul this summer.
Iheanacho Also Expected to Leave
Ejuke is not the only Nigerian player facing an uncertain future at Sevilla. His compatriot Kelechi Iheanacho is also expected to depart the club during this transfer window.
Iheanacho, who similarly joined Sevilla on a free transfer last summer, was loaned out to Championship side Middlesbrough in January after failing to establish himself in the team.
The former UEFA Europa League winners will be hoping their summer rebuild helps them return to competing at the highest level in both domestic and European competitions.
