The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested 27 suspected criminals and recovered various dangerous weapons and hard drugs during a joint security operation in Kawo, a suburb of Kaduna State.
DSP Mansir Hassan, the command's spokesperson, confirmed that the arrests were made in line with the Commissioner of Police's directive to identify, flush out, and dismantle criminal elements threatening peace in designated areas across the state.
Joint Security Operation
According to the police statement, the operation was conducted in collaboration with the Military, Department of State Services (DSS), and Kaduna State Vigilante Service. The joint tactical operation was launched on Sunday at approximately 10:30 PM, targeting criminal hideouts within Kawo and surrounding neighborhoods.
"This operation led to the arrest of 27 suspects, and a significant cache of dangerous weapons was recovered from them," the statement revealed.

Large quantities of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp

Police Commissioner's Statement
Commissioner of Police Rabiu Muhammad reiterated the command's unwavering commitment to maintaining law and order across Kaduna State. He emphasized that Kaduna remains a peaceful state, and the Police would not allow miscreants or criminally-minded individuals to destabilize the peace.
"Anyone with intentions to cause violence or disrupt public order is strongly advised to desist or vacate the state," the statement warned.
This operation comes amid ongoing security challenges in parts of Kaduna State, with authorities intensifying efforts to combat criminal activities and ensure public safety.
