The Kaduna State Police Command has apprehended 27 suspects during a joint security operation in the Kawo area of Kaduna State. The raid, conducted in the early hours of June 8, 2025, was a collaborative effort involving the military, Department of State Services (DSS), and local hunter groups.
According to DSP Mansir Hassan, spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command, the operation led to the recovery of various weapons including knives and axes, as well as illegal substances, particularly marijuana.
Commissioner of Police, CP Rabiu Muhammad, commended the level of cooperation among the security agencies involved in the operation. He emphasized the state's firm stance against criminal activities.
"Kaduna State is a peaceful state, and we want to keep it as a peaceful state. Criminals will not disrupt the peace of our communities," CP Muhammad stated.
The Commissioner issued a stern warning to individuals contemplating criminal activities, stressing that "Kaduna State is too small for criminality" and that there is "no safe haven for criminal elements in the state."
This operation comes as part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to maintain peace and order in Kaduna State, which has faced security challenges in recent years.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
In a related development, the Adamawa Police Command recently foiled a kidnapping attempt, highlighting the continued vigilance of security forces across the northern region.
