Nigerian international striker Victor Osimhen is reportedly in advanced talks with Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal regarding a potential summer transfer, according to reliable sources.
The 26-year-old forward, who is currently on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray from Italian club Napoli, is expected to make a permanent move away from the Serie A side at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season.
French news outlet Footmercato reports that Al-Hilal has already established contact with Osimhen's representatives as they seek to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Brazilian star Neymar in January.
Osimhen's current contract with Napoli includes a €75 million (approximately ₦94.5 billion) release clause that can be activated this summer by interested clubs. However, this clause specifically excludes Serie A clubs, meaning Italian giants Juventus, who have also reportedly shown interest in the Nigerian striker, would need to pay a premium to secure his services.
The Super Eagles star has been in impressive form during his loan spell at Galatasaray, helping the Turkish club secure the league title while making history by matching the goal-scoring records of former strikers Bafétimbi Gomis and Mauro Icardi.
Galatasaray manager Francisco Riera has previously indicated that Osimhen has "many suitors" and reports suggest the Turkish club is "ready to pay anything" to retain the Nigerian striker permanently, setting up a potential bidding war for his signature.
This development comes amid growing interest in Nigerian talent from Saudi Pro League clubs, who continue to attract high-profile players with lucrative contracts as part of Saudi Arabia's broader sports investment strategy.
Football analysts suggest that Al-Hilal's financial might could give them an advantage in negotiations, though Osimhen may also consider options in Europe's top leagues before making his final decision.
