Turkish giants Galatasaray have submitted a new official bid of €60 million to Napoli for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen after reportedly reaching an agreement with the player for a permanent transfer.
According to Turkish football pundit Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who disclosed this information on Monday evening, Galatasaray's latest offer comes after successfully negotiating personal terms with the Super Eagles forward.
"Galatasaray, having reached an agreement with Victor Osimhen, made another official offer to Napoli, proposing 60 million euros," Sabuncuoğlu revealed. "Galatasaray will hold talks with the player this week to finalize Victor Osimhen's transfer."
Osimhen is no stranger to the Turkish club, having spent the entirety of last season on loan at Galatasaray where he made a significant impact, scoring an impressive 37 goals across all competitions.
The 26-year-old striker's future has been the subject of intense speculation this summer, with several European clubs reportedly interested in securing his services. However, Galatasaray appears determined to retain the Nigerian international on a permanent basis following his successful loan spell.
Reports suggest that Osimhen is in a positive mood regarding the potential permanent move to Turkey, especially after Galatasaray reportedly sent representatives to Nigeria to advance negotiations.
While Napoli has yet to respond officially to this latest bid, the Italian club is believed to be open to selling the striker for the right price, having already secured his replacement during the previous transfer window.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had previously ruled out Manchester United as a potential destination for Osimhen, naming three other clubs in contention for his signature before Galatasaray emerged as frontrunners.
BenriNews understands that further developments are expected in the coming days as Galatasaray pushes to complete what would be one of the most significant transfers involving a Nigerian player this summer.
