The Ebonyi State Government has expressed satisfaction over the state's exceptional performance in the 2024 National Examination Council (NECO) examinations, securing a position among the top three states nationwide.
According to a performance analysis published by data organization Statisense, Ebonyi State ranked alongside Abia and Imo States, with an impressive 80.55% of its students obtaining five credits and above, including in English and Mathematics.
Jude Chikadibia Okpor, the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, described this achievement as a clear testament to the sound educational policies implemented under Governor Francis Nwifuru's administration.
"This academic feat is a reliable pointer to the fact that Ebonyi people were right in their decision and choice of His Excellency," Okpor stated, highlighting the governor's consistent investment in the education sector as a key factor behind this success.
The commissioner commended students, teachers, and other stakeholders for their contributions to this remarkable achievement. He further urged residents to continue supporting the governor's initiatives, noting that this performance is merely an indication of greater achievements to come as the administration approaches its two-year anniversary.
This outstanding result positions Ebonyi among the educational high-performers in Nigeria, demonstrating significant progress in academic standards despite being one of the younger states in the federation.
Education stakeholders across the state have welcomed this development as a positive indicator of improving educational standards in Ebonyi and a promising sign for the future of education in the state.
