Jerusalem — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel has carried out a joint military operation with the United States, targeting what he described as an existential threat from Iran.

Speaking in a national address, Netanyahu said the operation was aimed at preventing Iran’s leadership from obtaining nuclear weapons. He accused Iran’s ruling system of decades of hostility toward Israel and the U.S., as well as repression of its own people.

Netanyahu thanked U.S. President Donald Trump for supporting the action, highlighting the close coordination between the two allies.

He also addressed the Iranian public, saying the operation could open a path for Iranians to determine their own future. At home, Netanyahu urged Israelis to follow Home Front Command instructions, warning that the coming days could be difficult and would require unity and resilience.

There was no immediate response from Iranian officials, and details of the operation were not independently confirmed at the time of his remarks.
