Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has sent his warmest wishes to children across the state as Nigeria celebrates the 2025 Children's Day on May 27, while reaffirming his administration's commitment to protecting their rights and building a brighter future for them.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Monday Uzor, on Tuesday in Abakaliki, Governor Nwifuru described children as "the most precious assets of Ebonyi State and the foundation upon which tomorrow's prosperity will be built."

The governor highlighted the significant progress his administration has made in promoting child development and welfare since taking office, while emphasizing this year's theme: "Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bullying-Free Generation."

"This theme is both timely and powerful. It calls us all—Parents, Government, Educators, Leaders, and indeed every member of society—to action," the statement read.

"We must listen to our children, empower them to use their voices and create environments where they feel safe, heard, and valued," Governor Nwifuru added.

The governor encouraged Ebonyi children to "stand tall in your truth, speak up for yourselves and others, and always show kindness and courage," while assuring them of his administration's support.

"Let me use this medium to remind you that you are not alone. Your government stands with you, committed to safeguarding your rights, ensuring access to quality education, and deliberately creating an atmosphere where your dreams can flourish free of fear or intimidation," he stated.

Governor Nwifuru reaffirmed his administration's resolve to strengthen child protection systems, promote inclusive education, and support initiatives that nurture a generation of confident, responsible, and compassionate young leaders in Ebonyi State.
