Nigerian international striker Cyriel Dessers has expressed his delight after reaching the milestone of 50 goals for Scottish Premiership giants Rangers FC.
The 30-year-old forward achieved this remarkable feat during Rangers' 3-1 comeback victory against Dundee United at Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday night, where he netted twice to help secure the win for the Light Blues.
Dessers opened his account on the night with a superb header in the 25th minute before converting from the penalty spot 17 minutes from time to complete his brace.
Speaking to the club's official website after the match, Dessers reflected on his achievement and the season as a whole: "It is very pleasing. As I mentioned before, it's been a season with ups and downs, too many for everybody's wishes, but it's nice to end on a positive feeling here at Ibrox and I know it doesn't make up for the whole season but it's a nice feeling."
The Nigerian striker has been in impressive form this season, netting 28 goals across all competitions for Rangers, contributing significantly to their campaign despite the club's inconsistent performances.
Dessers' double against Dundee United helped Rangers secure an important three points as they look to end their season on a high note, giving fans something to cheer about at Ibrox.
The forward, who joined Rangers in 2023, has established himself as a key player for the Glasgow side, with his goal-scoring prowess making him a fan favorite despite the team's challenging season in the Scottish Premiership.
