The Nigeria Police Force, Niger State Command, has officially declared 34-year-old Jacob Iordye Nyihemba wanted in connection with allegations of criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy, and theft by servants.
According to a statement from the command, the case was initially reported to the Police Area Command in Suleja on July 10, 2023, by Nyihemba's former employer after his sudden disappearance from the organization.
Investigation Details
SP Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed that the case has been under investigation since it was reported. Other individuals allegedly involved in the criminal activities have already been apprehended and charged to court in March 2024.
"All efforts made to invite the said Jacob Iordye Nyihemba since then proved abortive, as it is evidently clear that this accused person is evading arrest," Abiodun stated in the official notice.
The wanted suspect, a native of Benue State, is believed to have fled after the criminal activities were discovered at his workplace in Suleja.
Public Appeal
The police have advised Nyihemba to report to the nearest police station for investigation. They have also called on the public to assist with information that could lead to his arrest.
"Anyone who has any information that could lead to his arrest should inform the nearest Police station, or call the following phone numbers: 08032233454, 09168802621," the police statement added.
This case highlights ongoing efforts by Nigerian law enforcement to address workplace crimes and bring suspects to justice, regardless of how long they have evaded arrest.
