The Nigerian Army is set to strengthen its operational capacity with the induction of 6,195 fresh regular combatants who have successfully completed their six-month rigorous military training at the Depot Nigerian Army in Zaria.

These new soldiers, members of the 88 Regular Recruit Intake, began their training on January 13. While 6,450 candidates initially commenced the program, 255 were unable to complete the demanding training regimen.

Passing Out Parade and Deployment

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, is expected to serve as the reviewing officer at the passing out parade for the new regular combatants. This ceremony marks their official induction into the Nigerian Army's ranks.

Following their induction, the fresh troops will be deployed to various theatres of operation across the country to bolster the military's efforts in combating security challenges facing Nigeria. Before deployment, they will undergo specialized training to prepare them for their specific roles and responsibilities in different operational environments.

Enhancing Military Capacity

This significant injection of manpower comes at a crucial time when the Nigerian Army continues to address multiple security threats across different regions of the country. The addition of these 6,195 trained combatants is expected to substantially enhance the Army's operational readiness and effectiveness in maintaining national security.

The recruitment and training of these new soldiers demonstrate the Nigerian Army's ongoing commitment to strengthening its ranks with well-trained personnel capable of addressing the nation's security challenges.
