The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has urged African nations to strengthen their collaborative efforts in addressing the continent's increasingly complex security challenges.

Speaking at the 4th African Air Forces Forum held in Lagos, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that no single African country possesses the capacity to independently overcome the evolving security threats affecting the region.

According to a statement by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at the Nigerian Air Force Headquarters, the Chief of Air Staff stressed that effective continental security requires cooperation, trust, and shared strategic interests among African nations.

"In today's rapidly evolving threat environment, the capacity to project airpower for deterrence, surveillance, logistics, or combat has become indispensable. However, at the core of Africa's effective employment of airpower lies the imperative for trusted partnerships anchored in shared values and strategic interests," Abubakar stated.

The forum, themed 'Strengthening Collaborations in Advanced Aerospace Technologies for Enhanced National and Regional Security,' brought together air chiefs, defense experts, and strategic partners from across Africa and beyond.

Air Marshal Abubakar noted that the transnational nature of modern security threats demands "enhanced cooperation, innovation, and strategic foresight among African air forces."

He further highlighted that the forum serves as a vital platform for building strong relationships, exchanging ideas, and facilitating technology transfer—all crucial steps toward achieving self-sufficiency in aerospace and defense capabilities across the African continent.

The call for unity comes at a time when various parts of Africa continue to face significant security challenges, including terrorism, insurgency, and cross-border criminal activities that threaten regional stability and development.
