The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully neutralized several terrorists and destroyed multiple gun trucks during an operation in Buratai, Borno State in the early hours of June 5, 2025.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, confirmed that personnel operating under Operation Hadin Kai acted on credible intelligence to track insurgents attempting to escape with four gun trucks.
Precision Strike Against Terrorist Convoy
According to the statement, NAF air assets engaged the terrorist convoy with "devastating accuracy," resulting in the neutralization of several fighters and the destruction of two gun trucks loaded with supplies.
"Our personnel, while acting on credible intelligence, tracked insurgents attempting to flee with four gun trucks, but NAF air assets swooped in and engaged the convoy with devastating accuracy," the statement read.
The Air Force has advised members of the public to continue providing useful information to support their operations, noting that additional details about the operation will be communicated as they become available.
Ongoing Counter-Terrorism Efforts
This successful operation comes as part of the military's intensified efforts to combat terrorism in Nigeria's northeastern region, where insurgent groups have maintained a presence for over a decade.
The strike in Buratai follows several recent successful operations by Nigerian security forces in the region, including the neutralization of a wanted Boko Haram commander and the foiling of multiple planned attacks on civilian populations.
Military sources indicate that Operation Hadin Kai continues to make significant progress in degrading terrorist capabilities and restoring security to affected communities in the Northeast.
