The newly posted Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to Jigawa State, Bala Bawa Bodinga, has issued a stern warning to criminals operating in the state, declaring that Jigawa will no longer serve as a safe haven for criminal activities.

Commandant Bodinga made this declaration while parading several suspects arrested for various offenses at the NSCDC Command Headquarters in Dutse, the state capital.

"Within just seven days of assuming duty as the new NSCDC Commandant in Jigawa, the command has apprehended a suspected cattle rustler in Kaugama and seven suspected electricity cable vandals in Gumel Local Government Area," he disclosed.

The Commandant emphasized that these arrests reflect his commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment across the state, adding that all criminal elements will be decisively dealt with.

"We are fully determined to flush out criminals from their hideouts and ensure they face the full wrath of the law," Bodinga stated, issuing an ultimatum for criminals to either repent or relocate from the state.

The NSCDC Commandant also called on residents to support the corps in its efforts to combat crime by providing credible information that could aid in the arrest and prosecution of offenders.

This development comes as part of intensified security measures across Jigawa State, with the NSCDC working to address various criminal activities including cattle rustling and vandalism of critical infrastructure.
