A secondary school teacher, Mallam Mohammed Abubakar Tayi, was found brutally murdered in his home in Mokwa, Niger State, just a day after celebrating Eid with his family.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the teacher's residence along Abattoir Road in Mokwa town, according to local sources.

Reports indicate that unknown assailants broke into Mallam Mohammed's home during the night, killed him, and stole his motorcycle. The brutal attack has shocked the local community, especially coming immediately after the festive Eid celebrations.

"He was full of life yesterday, celebrating with his family and greeting neighbours. We woke up today to hear he's been killed," said a grieving resident who witnessed the teacher during the Eid festivities.
