Nigeria's Falconets have been drawn to face Rwanda in the second qualifying round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup scheduled to be held in Poland.

The Nigerian U-20 women's team, who received a bye in the first round due to their impressive record of 44 wins and three draws from previous qualifying campaigns, will be meeting Rwanda for the first time at this level.

Rwanda secured their place in the second round after eliminating Zimbabwe with a 2-1 aggregate victory in the first qualifying round. The East African side won the first leg 2-1 in Harare before holding Zimbabwe to a goalless draw in the return fixture in Kigali.

According to the schedule released, the first leg of the Nigeria-Rwanda tie will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Kigali, while the Falconets will host the return leg in Nigeria on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

The qualifying series will determine Africa's four representatives at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Poland. Nigeria's Falconets have consistently been one of Africa's strongest teams in this age category, having qualified for previous editions of the tournament.

The Falconets will be looking to secure one of the four slots allocated to the African continent for the global showpiece next year.
