Legendary Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed he will not participate in the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving numerous invitations from clubs around the world.
The 40-year-old Al Nassr forward revealed that while he has been in discussions with several clubs, he has decided against competing in the prestigious tournament.
Multiple Offers Rejected
"It's almost decided that I will NOT take part at the FIFA Club World Cup despite receiving many invitations and proposals," Ronaldo stated, as reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.
The former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus star added: "There have been talks, contacts... but you have to think about short, medium and long term."
Reports had previously suggested that Ronaldo was considering a temporary switch from Al Nassr to Al Hilal specifically to participate in the tournament, but these plans appear to have been shelved.
According to sources, clubs from Saudi Arabia, Brazil, and other leagues had approached the Portuguese icon with proposals to represent them in the FIFA competition.
Focus on National Team
Ronaldo's immediate focus remains on international duty, as he is set to lead Portugal in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain later today.
The five-time Ballon d'Or winner continues to demonstrate his commitment to his national team, even at this stage of his illustrious career.
This decision regarding the Club World Cup suggests Ronaldo is carefully managing his playing commitments as he balances club responsibilities at Al Nassr with international duties for Portugal.
