Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has completed a permanent move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, signing a four-year contract after spending last season on loan with the club.
The 26-year-old Super Eagles striker revealed that his decision to return to Istanbul was influenced by two major factors despite receiving interest from Saudi Arabian clubs and several European teams.
Speaking about his transfer decision, Osimhen highlighted the importance of his family's connection to the club, particularly his daughter's affection for Galatasaray.
"Apart from the fans that drove with the love and passion they have for the club, my daughter was key to making this decision much easier for me," Osimhen explained.
The striker further emphasized his emotional attachment to the club, adding: "All my family love Gala. So I can't see a reason to not be here, that's why I call it home. I will enjoy myself till I'm not needed here."
Osimhen's permanent move comes after a successful loan spell last season where he quickly became a fan favorite at the Istanbul-based club. The transfer represents a significant commitment from both the player and Galatasaray amid what has been a turbulent period in the striker's career.
The Nigerian forward's decision to choose Galatasaray over potentially more lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia demonstrates his prioritization of family happiness and fan connection over financial considerations.
Football analysts suggest this move could provide Osimhen with the stability needed to continue his development as one of Africa's premier strikers, while also maintaining his prominence in the Nigerian national team setup.
