The Interim National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Bolaji Abdullahi, has strongly criticized President Bola Tinubu over the current economic hardship facing Nigerians, urging the president to leave the presidential villa and connect directly with citizens.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television's Politics Today on Wednesday, Abdullahi expressed concern that the president is being shielded from the reality of Nigerians' suffering by state governors and presidential aides who allegedly present a distorted picture of the situation.

"I feel sorry for Tinubu. President Tinubu needs to leave the Aso Villa, go to the streets and talk to the people, and stop listening to governors who say what they need to say just to endear themselves to power rather than tell them the true feelings of the people," Abdullahi stated.

The ADC spokesman suggested that the president is receiving misleading information from his close circle, who are more interested in maintaining favor with the administration than accurately representing the economic challenges facing ordinary Nigerians.

This criticism comes amid growing public discontent over rising inflation, fuel prices, and general economic hardship that many Nigerians attribute to policies implemented under the Tinubu administration since taking office.

The ADC, as an opposition party, has been vocal about what it perceives as governance failures, with Abdullahi's comments reflecting broader concerns about the disconnect between Nigeria's leadership and the lived experiences of its citizens.

Political analysts note that such criticisms highlight the growing pressure on the administration to address economic challenges that continue to affect millions of Nigerians across the country.
