Zahra Buhari, daughter of former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari, was captured in a heartbreaking moment of grief on a London street following the announcement of her father's death.

A video shared by Imran Muhammad on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday shows Zahra visibly distressed, crying and shouting as she struggled to process the devastating news. She was accompanied by other family members, including former First Lady Aisha Buhari, at the London hospital where the former president passed away.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari died on Sunday, July 13, 2025, after a brief illness. He was 82 years old at the time of his passing.

In response to the former president's death, Vice President Kashim Shettima and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, have traveled to London to oversee the repatriation of his remains.

Presidential aide Bashir Ahmad confirmed on social media that the remains of the former president will be laid to rest in his hometown of Daura, Katsina State. The specific date and time for the burial ceremony will be announced in due course.

Muhammadu Buhari served as Nigeria's president from 2015 to 2023, marking his second time in leadership after previously serving as military head of state from 1983 to 1985.

Zahra, who recently made headlines after graduating with a first-class degree, has been known to publicly support her father throughout his political career and defend his legacy.
