Nigerians Express Grief and Prayers

Following the announcement, Nigerians took to social media to express their reactions, with many showing shock, sorrow, and offering prayers for the deceased former president.

Professor Isa Pantami wrote: "Inna lil laahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'un! The eyes shed tears, and the heart is grieved, but we do not say anything except what pleases our Lord. O Baba Buhari, we are grieved by your separation. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus."

Another user, B_ELRUFAI, expressed: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji'un. May Allah SWT bless the soul of President Muhammadu Buhari. Shock, pain and very sad. Allah ya jikan Baba."

Reflections on Buhari's Legacy

Many Nigerians also reflected on Buhari's legacy and character during this moment of national mourning.

"We all know Buhari meant well for this country and had good intentions for Nigeria and its people. His integrity is unquestionable, which is why we call him 'Mai Gaskiya.' Like any human, he has his shortcomings, but Buhari has no record of womanising, smoking, drinking," wrote el_uthmaan.

Another Nigerian, identified as Nig_Farmer, commented: "Beautiful stories to tell about him. No human is perfect, we all have our faults. Buhari achieved a lot as human and would be remembered for greatness. I pray God gives the family the fortitude to bear the loss. Adieu, Baba Buhari."

PastorMarvy added: "I will never forget President Muhammadu Buhari. Gave his all for Nigeria both as a military head of state and civilian president. RIP Sai Baba, Sai Buhari."

"The fact that President Muhammadu Buhari wished this country well cannot be denied. Rest in peace, Sai Baba," wrote amicablu.

As the nation mourns the passing of its former leader, many have called for respect and dignity in honoring his memory, with some reminding critics about the inevitability of death for all humans.

"Death doesn't discriminate — rich or poor, known or unknown, we all get our turn. Death remains undefeated. RIP Baba Buhari," noted Waspapping.
