The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially joined the nation in mourning the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as "a towering figure who typifies humility, integrity and zero tolerance for corruption."
In a formal letter signed by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC paid tribute to Buhari's contributions to Nigeria's political landscape, highlighting his role as both a former military ruler and civilian president.
"The former President will be remembered for his indelible imprints on Nigeria's political history as an elder-statesman and a great patriot," Abdullahi stated in the condolence message.
The party extended prayers for strength to Buhari's family and all Nigerians during this period of national grief, asking that "Almighty Allah forgives his shortcomings and grant him Aljanatul firdaus."
Buhari, who served as Nigeria's President from 2015 to 2023 after previously ruling as military head of state from 1983 to 1985, was widely recognized for his anti-corruption stance throughout his political career.
The former President's death has prompted tributes from across Nigeria's political spectrum, with many political figures and organizations acknowledging his contributions to the nation's development despite differing political ideologies.
