Napoli has requested bank guarantees from Galatasaray as negotiations continue for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen's potential €75 million transfer to the Turkish champions.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Italian club is insisting on financial assurances before accepting Galatasaray's proposal to spread the payment over five years. The €75 million fee represents Osimhen's release clause in his current contract with Napoli.
"The deal for Victor Osimhen has never been off so far as talks are still underway with Napoli," Romano wrote on X. "Italian club insist to have bank guarantees as key step to accept €75m in five years. Galatasaray remain in Milano to negotiate and get the green light."
The Turkish champions have reportedly sent representatives to Milan to continue negotiations with Napoli officials, demonstrating their serious intent to secure the Nigerian international's signature. Galatasaray's persistence suggests they are determined to reach an agreement despite Napoli's firm stance on payment guarantees.
Osimhen, who has been linked with several European clubs throughout the transfer window, appears keen on the move to Turkey. Recent reports indicate the striker has urged Napoli to finalize the deal with Galatasaray, signaling his readiness for a new challenge in the Turkish Super Lig.
The potential transfer could have implications for other players, with reports suggesting Osimhen's arrival might affect Álvaro Morata's position at Galatasaray. The Turkish club's aggressive pursuit of the Nigerian forward demonstrates their ambition to strengthen their squad for domestic and European competitions.
