Galatasaray have stepped up their pursuit of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen with an improved offer of €75 million to Napoli, according to reliable sources in the football transfer market.
The Turkish giants have proposed to pay the fee over a five-year period in installments, matching the value of Osimhen's release clause but not triggering it directly due to the payment structure.
Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed the development on Tuesday night, stating: "Galatasaray have improved their official bid for Victor Osimhen. €75m reached as value of the release clause but not triggering it as the offer is with payment terms in five years as installments. Decision up to Napoli."
Sources close to the negotiations indicate that Osimhen has already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray on a three-year contract, signaling his willingness to make the move to the Turkish Super Lig.
The ball now appears to be in Napoli's court, as the Italian club must decide whether to accept the payment structure proposed by Galatasaray or hold out for different terms.
This latest development comes amid ongoing speculation about Osimhen's future, with the Nigerian international previously linked to several European clubs including Premier League sides. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand recently expressed that he would be disappointed to see Osimhen move to Turkey rather than joining a Premier League club.
Osimhen, who has established himself as one of Africa's premier strikers, appears eager to resolve his future quickly after a period of uncertainty at the Italian club.
The 25-year-old striker rose to prominence during Napoli's Serie A title-winning campaign in the 2022/23 season, where his clinical finishing and aerial prowess made him one of Europe's most sought-after forwards.
