The Katsina State Police Command has successfully rescued six farmers following a fierce gun battle with armed kidnappers in Kwari Manaja Forest, located in Sabuwa Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred on June 21, 2025, at approximately 5:41 p.m., when gunmen stormed farmlands where villagers were working and abducted several individuals, according to reports.
Swift Police Response
Upon receiving information about the kidnapping, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Sabuwa quickly mobilized a team of tactical operatives who led a convoy of Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) patrol vehicles to the area.
The police officers confronted the armed men in an intense exchange of gunfire, eventually overpowering them. The kidnappers were forced to abandon their captives and flee into the forest.
