Vice President Kashim Shettima has strongly condemned the suicide bombing attack that claimed multiple lives at a local food joint in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State on Friday night.

In a statement released on Saturday, Shettima described the incident as "a heinous act of terrorism against innocent civilians" and called for intensified investigations into the attack.

The Vice President, who previously served as Governor of Borno State, urged relevant agencies to ensure that victims and families of the deceased receive urgent support during this difficult time.

Government's Response to the Attack

Expressing sympathy with the families of the victims and the people of Borno, Shettima emphasized the Federal Government's commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.

"Our hearts go out to the families who have lost loved ones in this senseless act of violence. The government stands with them in this difficult time and will provide all necessary support," Shettima stated.

He further assured that the administration of President Bola Tinubu remains dedicated to restoring lasting peace and security to the Northeast and all parts of Nigeria.

"We will not allow our enemies to undermine the progress we have made in degrading their capabilities," the Vice President added.

The attack comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilize the security situation in Nigeria's northeastern region, which has faced insurgency challenges for over a decade.
