Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has completed a move to Romanian club CFR Cluj on a free transfer, BenriNews reports. The experienced center-back joins the eight-time Romanian League champions after parting ways with Turkish Super Lig club Kasimpasa in February.

Omeruo becomes the sixth Nigerian player to represent CFR Cluj, joining compatriot Philip Otele who is currently on the books of the Romanian side. The defender's arrival is expected to strengthen Dan Petrescu's squad as they aim to reclaim the league title in the upcoming season.

Experience Brings Value

The Nigerian international brings significant experience to Cluj, having previously played in Turkey, England, Spain, and the Netherlands. His defensive prowess and leadership qualities will be crucial for the Romanian outfit, who secured the Romanian Cup last season but fell short in their league campaign.

Omeruo, who has been a regular fixture in the Nigerian national team setup, will be looking to revitalize his club career with this new challenge in Romania's top flight.

The move represents a fresh start for the defender after his contract with Kasimpasa was terminated earlier this year. At CFR Cluj, he joins a club with championship pedigree and continental ambitions.
