Scottish Premiership club Motherwell FC have confirmed the departure of Nigerian forward Moses Ebiye following the expiration of his contract at the end of June 2025.

The 28-year-old striker, who joined Motherwell on a free transfer in March 2024, made an immediate impact at the club by scoring a dramatic winner on his debut against Dundee.

During his 15-month spell with the Scottish side, Ebiye netted seven goals in 39 appearances across all competitions, establishing himself as a valuable squad member despite the club's decision not to extend his stay.

Career Journey

Ebiye began his professional career in Nigeria with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Akwa United before moving abroad. Prior to his Motherwell stint, the forward gained European experience playing in Norway, which helped prepare him for the physical demands of Scottish football.

His goal-scoring debut for Motherwell highlighted his potential, though the club has now opted to pursue other options as they rebuild their squad for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

Ebiye now joins the list of Nigerian players currently seeking new opportunities in European football as the summer transfer window approaches.

The striker's experience in the Scottish Premiership could make him an attractive prospect for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.
