The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended a domestic worker, Mr. Divine Ifeanyi Nnalue, for allegedly stealing his employer's black Toyota Camry at Trinity Avenue, Federal Housing, on the outskirts of Onitsha, the commercial hub of the state.
According to a statement released by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the spokesman for Anambra State Police Command on Monday, the suspect was arrested on June 13, 2025, at Ugbeji-Okpanam near Asaba in Delta State following an intelligence-driven investigation by operatives attached to the 33 Police Station.
During interrogation, Nnalue reportedly confessed to having sold the vehicle, which bears registration number ENU 289 JF, to an unidentified person. Police operatives are currently working with this information to recover the vehicle and apprehend other individuals involved in the criminal act.
Breach of Trust
"This arrest highlights the Command's ability to track down and bring to justice individuals who breach trust and commit crimes," SP Ikenga stated. "It also demonstrates the Command's commitment to protecting citizens' properties and upholding the law."
The case underscores the growing concern about security within households and the importance of thorough background checks when employing domestic staff.
