The Adamawa State Government has urged the 1,013 graduates deployed for national service in the state to develop innovative skills, emphasizing that the future belongs to creative minds.

Deputy Governor Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, representing Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, made this call on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of the Batch 'A' Stream 2 corps members at the orientation camp in Damare, Girei Local Government Area.

"The future belongs to innovative and creative minds," Farauta stated, advising the corps members not to rely solely on their general education but to acquire practical skills that would make them self-reliant.

Skills Acquisition Opportunities

The Deputy Governor encouraged the youth corps members to take full advantage of the skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development programs available at the orientation camp.

She also assured them that the state government would continue to pay the monthly stipend of N20,000, while urging them to reciprocate this support through discipline, diligence, and making positive impacts at their various places of primary assignment.

"We trust you will reciprocate this support through discipline, diligence and impact at your various postings," she added.

Becoming Employers Rather Than Job Seekers

The state Coordinator of NYSC, Caroline Osoroh, and the Chairman of the Governing Board, Wali Yakubu, informed the corps members that their orientation exercise is designed to position them as future employers of labor rather than job seekers.

During the ceremony, the state Chief Judge, Justice Hafsat Abdulrahman, represented by Justice Kyanson Lawason, administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members.

The deployment of these corps members is part of the National Youth Service Corps program, which aims to foster national unity and development through the service of Nigerian graduates.
