Cote d'Ivoire has been selected to host the 2025 WAFU B Women's Champions League, BenriNews reports. The tournament will run from Saturday, August 9 to Sunday, August 24, 2025, bringing together eight top women's football clubs from across the West African region.

According to the WAFU B secretariat, two teams have already secured their spots in the prestigious competition. Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions Bayelsa Queens and Police Ladies of Ghana will be among the eight participating teams vying for continental glory.

The winner of the tournament will earn the right to represent the WAFU B zone at the 2025 CAF Women's Champions League, where they will compete against champions from other African regions.

Nigerian clubs have performed well in recent editions of the tournament, with former NWFL champions Edo Queens claiming the title last year. Bayelsa Queens will be looking to bring the trophy back to Nigeria and secure their place in the continental championship.

This announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop women's football across the West African region, providing more competitive opportunities for female footballers and raising the profile of the women's game.

The tournament is expected to showcase the best of women's club football in the region and further strengthen Cote d'Ivoire's position as a growing football hub in West Africa.
