The Lagos State Police Command has officially launched an investigation into the case of a missing boy, Master Ovie Kehinde, following a viral video of his distressed mother pleading for help on social media.
In a statement released on Monday, the Command's spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that authorities are deeply concerned about the incident and have initiated comprehensive measures to locate the missing young man and ensure his safe return to his family.
Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yaba, to lead a discreet investigation into the disappearance.
"All relevant investigative teams, including special tactical squads, Police Divisions, and Area Commands across Lagos State, and neighbouring commands, have been mobilized to support efforts in locating the missing person," the statement detailed.
The Command has also called on members of the public who may possess information that could aid the investigation to come forward. Such information can be reported to the nearest police station or through the office of the Command's Public Relations Officer.
As the search for Master Ovie Kehinde continues, authorities have assured the public that they are employing all available resources to resolve the case promptly.
