The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Lagos State Command, has officially handed over notorious crime suspect Obi Levi Obieze to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the transfer in a statement released on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Friday, May 30.

"ONGOING: @nigimmigration, Lagos State Command hands over wanted suspect, Obi Levi Obieze, to @LagosPoliceNG at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja," Hundeyin stated.

Arrest While Attempting to Flee

Obieze, also known as Levi Obu Onyeka, was apprehended on May 29, 2025, by NIS operatives at the Gbaji checkpoint along Badagry-Seme Road. According to reports, he was attempting to escape the country on a motorcycle when he was intercepted.

The arrest followed credible intelligence that linked Obieze to serious crimes including kidnapping and alleged ritual killings in Isiagu Community, Enugu State.

Connection to Child Abduction

Obieze, identified as a native doctor from Umuajor village in Enugu, is reportedly part of a group of three men who abducted a 13-year-old girl on May 27, 2025. The abduction occurred while the victim was walking with her father to their farm.

Authorities later rescued the girl from a shrine allegedly connected to Obieze.

The Nigeria Immigration Service confirmed Obieze's identity through a National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) enrollment slip found in his possession at the time of arrest.

The case has now been transferred to the Lagos State Police Command, which will conduct further investigations into the suspect's alleged criminal activities.
