The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has strongly condemned recent bandit attacks in Kagara and Ugom communities of Giwa and Kajuru Local Government Areas, which resulted in the deaths of two residents, injuries to many others, and cattle rustling.

According to a statement issued on Saturday by Edward Percy Masha, the state chairman of the party, two community members—Salisu Aminu and Stephen Alhassan—lost their lives in what he described as "senseless attacks" on the communities.

The PDP criticized both the state and federal governments for failing to ensure the security and welfare of citizens. The party specifically called on Governor Uba Sani's APC-led administration to urgently review its approach to protecting lives and property.

Call for Immediate Action

The opposition party urged the state government to "awake the dormant Ministry of Internal Security & Home Affairs to its responsibility and enhance collaboration with federal forces" to address the deteriorating security situation in the state.

Masha also called on relevant state agencies, including the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, to provide urgent care and support to survivors of the attacks.

"The PDP is committed to holding the inept APC-led government in Kaduna State accountable for the safety of all citizens and communities," the statement emphasized.

The party appealed to Kaduna residents to remain patient, assuring them that the PDP is working towards "ushering in a new dawn in 2027," an apparent reference to the next general elections.

The statement concluded with the PDP extending condolences to the families and communities of the deceased, while praying for the quick recovery of those injured in the attacks.

These attacks add to the growing security concerns in Kaduna State, which has faced persistent challenges from bandits and other armed groups in recent years.
