Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has rejected a salary offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal, according to Nigerian broadcast journalist Onyebuchi Onokala, also known as Buchi Laba.

The journalist revealed that the offer turned down by Osimhen was identical to the one presented to him last year. At that time, the Nigerian international had agreed to the terms, but the transfer collapsed when Napoli altered their financial demands at the last minute.

"Excl: Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal's first offer. It was the same offer they made last year," Buchi Laba wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Other Clubs in the Race

Despite rejecting Al-Hilal's proposal, Osimhen appears to have other options on the table. According to the same source, "a club from Italy is keen and ready to pay Victor what he wants in wages."

Additionally, Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly making significant efforts to secure the striker's signature, with the release clause not presenting an obstacle for them.

Al-Hilal Sets Deadline

Reports indicate that Al-Hilal has not given up on signing the Nigerian forward. The Saudi club has reportedly set a Friday deadline for Osimhen to respond to their offer.

The Saudi Pro League side is prepared to trigger Osimhen's €70 million release clause and aims to complete the transfer in time for the upcoming Club World Cup.

Osimhen has been the subject of transfer speculation since his impressive performances helped Napoli secure the Serie A title in the 2022/2023 season. His future remains uncertain as the transfer window progresses, with multiple clubs vying for his signature.
