Suspected kidnappers have abducted a lawyer, Emeka Irogboli, and a solar panel engineer who was working at his residence in Ibusa, Delta State. The incident occurred behind Admiralty Drive in Oshimili North local government area.

According to rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who disclosed the information on Friday, the kidnappers have threatened to eliminate the victims if their demands are not met immediately. The abductors are reportedly demanding ₦100 million, with negotiations currently ongoing.

Remote Location Facilitated Abduction

Gwamnishu revealed that the lawyer's residence is situated in a secluded, bushy area approximately 20 minutes away from town, which may have made it an easy target for the kidnappers.

"Barr Emeka I. Irogboli, a practicing lawyer residing in Ibusa, Delta State, was kidnapped alongside a solar panel Engineer who was working at his residence," Gwamnishu stated in a Facebook post.

He called on the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Delta State chapter, to reach out to the family and find alternatives to rescue their colleague. "The kidnappers are threatening to take their lives if their demands are not met," he added.

Police Response

When contacted about the incident, Delta State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that the issue is being addressed by the authorities.

This kidnapping adds to the growing security concerns in Delta State, with several similar incidents reported in recent months.
