Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has urged residents to intensify prayers and rally behind development initiatives as Muslims celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Speaking during the festive period, the governor attributed the modest progress achieved by his administration over the past two years to public support and prayers, despite numerous challenges facing the state.
Focus on Key Development Areas
As his administration enters the second half of its first term, Governor Idris reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing critical sectors including education, agriculture, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment programs.
"Our achievements thus far have been possible through your continued support and prayers. As we mark this sacred celebration, I urge all citizens to maintain this spirit of unity and cooperation," the governor stated.
Call for Peace and Tolerance
The governor appealed to citizens to embrace the core values of Eid-el-Kabir by promoting peace, unity, and tolerance across all communities in the state. He emphasized the importance of working together regardless of political affiliations or religious differences to ensure security and progress.
"Our diversity should be our strength, not a source of division. By working together with a common purpose, we can overcome challenges and build a more prosperous Kebbi State," Idris added.
The governor's message comes as the state government recently announced an 11-day school closure for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and as security agencies deploy personnel to secure worship and recreation centers across the state.
