The Kebbi State Police Command has announced a comprehensive security deployment across the state to ensure a peaceful and secure Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi, the Command's Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that the Commissioner of Police has ordered intensified patrols and surveillance operations throughout the state.
"We have made adequate deployment at worship and recreational centers across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property," CSP Abubakar stated.
Strategic Security Measures
According to the statement, divisional police officers and tactical squad commanders have received directives to conduct both covert and overt operations. These measures aim to safeguard residents, with particular focus on Muslim faithful expected to gather at worship and recreational centres for the Sallah festivities.
The police spokesperson also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to cooperate with security agencies during and after the celebration to maintain public order and prevent criminal activity.
This security arrangement comes as Muslims across Nigeria prepare to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, one of the most significant festivals in the Islamic calendar, which commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah.
The deployment is part of a nationwide security effort to ensure that citizens can observe the religious holiday in a peaceful and secure environment.
