The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has issued a strong call for justice following the brutal murder of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Muhammad Ali, who served as the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rano Division in Kano State.

During Tuesday's plenary session in Lafia, lawmakers unanimously condemned the killing and urged the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Kano State Government to swiftly identify and prosecute those responsible for the heinous act.

Call for Swift Action

The motion of public importance was raised by Hon. Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, representing Lafia Central under the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Speaker of the House, Dr. Danladi Jatau, lent his support to the motion, emphasizing the critical need for urgent action.

"The perpetrators of this heinous crime must not go unpunished," stated Dr. Jatau. "Bringing them to justice will not only serve the cause of justice for CSP Muhammad Ali and his family but also serve as a deterrent to those who may contemplate similar acts."

CSP Ali, a native of Nasarawa State, was reportedly killed under violent circumstances, an act the lawmakers described as both unjustified and unacceptable.

Broader Security Concerns

Beyond seeking justice for the slain officer, the Assembly also expressed condolences to the family of CSP Muhammad Ali and to the Nigeria Police Force for their loss.

The lawmakers further urged both the federal and Kano State governments to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and to enhance security measures for law enforcement officers serving across the country.

This incident comes amid growing concerns about the safety of security personnel in various parts of the country, highlighting the dangers faced by those tasked with maintaining law and order in Nigeria.
