Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze has opened up about the factors that led to AC Milan's disappointing 2024-25 campaign, which saw the Italian giants finish eighth in Serie A and miss out on European football for the upcoming season.

The Rossoneri endured one of their worst seasons in recent memory, failing to secure European qualification after a dismal league performance. Their struggles extended to cup competitions as well, with early exits from both the UEFA Champions League and Coppa Italia.

Speaking to SportsBoom, Chukwueze identified managerial instability as a key issue that plagued the team throughout the season.

"Starting the season with one manager and completing pre-season under him, then switching manager midway was quite difficult," Chukwueze explained. "When a new manager arrived, everything changed from tactics, formations, and playing style. The players were eager and hungry, but adapting quickly to new ideas and systems wasn't easy."

The only silver lining in an otherwise forgettable season for AC Milan was their Supercoppa Italiana triumph, which provided some consolation amid the disappointment.

Following the conclusion of the season, AC Milan parted ways with manager Sergio Conceiao, who failed to turn the team's fortunes around after taking charge midway through the campaign.

Chukwueze's comments highlight the challenges of maintaining consistency when dealing with significant tactical changes, suggesting that the squad struggled to adapt to new systems despite their determination and effort.

AC Milan will be looking to rebuild under new leadership for the 2025-26 season, with fans hoping for a swift return to the European stage and a resurgence in domestic competitions.
