Weapons Recovery in Pandam Forest
In a separate operation conducted around 1:20 pm the same day, troops acting on credible intelligence discovered concealed weapons in Pandam Forest, located in Qua'an Pan Local Government Area of Plateau State.
"Troops discovered a freshly dug area which was immediately excavated. In the process, troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, and 30 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) carefully concealed by the bandits," the statement revealed.
The recovered weapons and ammunition are currently in military custody for further action. Meanwhile, operations are continuing in the area to recover additional arms and ammunition potentially hidden by the criminals.
The successful operations are part of the ongoing Operation Lafiyan Jama'a, which has been putting pressure on bandits operating in the region, forcing them to conceal their weapons and flee.
Military authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining pressure on criminal elements and ensuring the safety of communities in Plateau State and surrounding areas.
