Sporting Lagos has announced four nominees for their Player of the Month award for May, recognizing outstanding performances as the club continues its push for promotion.
The shortlisted players are Abraham Idakwo, Babatunde Akomolede, Jacob Aondona, and Thomson Gavi, all of whom made significant contributions to the team's campaign during the month under review.
Defenders Idakwo and Akomolede earned their nominations through stellar defensive performances, providing stability at the back for coach Shola Adegun's side throughout May.
Aondona, who has been a commanding presence in midfield, secured his place on the shortlist by effectively breaking up opposition play and maintaining tactical discipline. The midfielder also contributed an assist during the period under consideration.
Completing the list is Thomson Gavi, who delivered impressive performances throughout May, helping the team maintain their promotion push.
According to club sources, the winner of the monthly accolade will be announced later this week following a thorough evaluation process.
