Cameroon national team goalkeeper Ange Bawou has expressed confidence ahead of their friendly match against Nigeria's Super Falcons scheduled for Tuesday at the Moshood Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta.

The Indomitable Lionesses, under coach Jean Baptiste Bisseck, are currently undergoing significant restructuring after failing to qualify for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Bawou, who previously played for Nigeria Women Football League champions Bayelsa Queens, believes that facing one of their major continental rivals will significantly benefit Cameroon's rebuilding efforts.

"We are working on a great project with the national team," Bawou stated. "There are many good opportunities ahead of us, and we need to prepare well. Playing against Nigeria gives us a solid platform to test ourselves and improve."

The friendly match against Justine Madugu's Super Falcons side is set to kick off at 4:00 PM local time and represents an important test for both teams as they prepare for upcoming international competitions.

For Nigeria, this match comes as they prepare for the 2024 WAFCON tournament, where they will be aiming to secure their 10th continental title. The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) recently reinstated the team's fitness coach Karlsson as part of their preparations for the tournament.

Several key Super Falcons players including Rasheedat Ajibade, Ashleigh Alozie, and Rinsola Babajide have already arrived in camp ahead of the friendly, underscoring the importance both teams are placing on this fixture despite its non-competitive status.
