Security agencies have recovered a vehicle belonging to a United Nations (UN) staff member who was kidnapped by gunmen in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The victim, identified as 45-year-old Emmanuel Yusuf Sabo, was abducted around 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, while returning home from work along Godwin Street in the State Low-Cost area of Jos North.

According to reports, Sabo, who works at the UN Office in Jos, was kidnapped by unknown armed men, raising concerns among his family members and prompting immediate action from security agencies.

The incident was reported to the police at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Sunday by the victim's younger brother, Mr. Ezekiel Sabo, a resident of Angwan Rukuba.

Following the report, the Command Control Room quickly alerted all patrol teams and security posts throughout the state about the kidnapping.

Vehicle Recovery

In a significant development, police operatives intercepted the victim's vehicle at around 3:40 a.m. in Manguna, located in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.

The police report indicates that the suspected kidnappers abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled the scene upon encountering the security team.

As of the time of this report, authorities have not disclosed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the kidnapping, and the whereabouts of Emmanuel Yusuf Sabo remain unknown.

This incident adds to growing security concerns in Plateau State, which has experienced various forms of insecurity in recent years.
