Nigerian musician Peter Okoye has revealed that he is actively working alongside former Chelsea midfielder and Nigerian football legend Mikel Obi to secure Victor Osimhen's transfer to Chelsea Football Club.

The revelation came through a social media update where Okoye, a passionate Chelsea supporter and close associate of Osimhen, addressed fans about their continued pursuit of the Nigerian striker.

In his post on X (formerly Twitter), Okoye stated: "Dear ChelseaFC fans, last summer, both Mikel Obi and I made every effort to secure the signing of Victor Osimhen for Chelsea. Including engaging in a three-way call right up until the transfer deadline. I want to reassure all of you that we remain steadfast in our pursuit and will continue our efforts this summer. Fingers crossed."

Osimhen's Current Status

Osimhen, who is currently on loan at Turkish club Galatasaray, joined the team in 2024 after a potential transfer to Chelsea fell through. His impressive performance as the top goalscorer in Turkey's Super Lig has significantly increased his market value and attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.

The Nigerian striker's parent club, Napoli, reportedly has high demands for his permanent transfer. According to reports, they are seeking a substantial fee for the prolific forward, with some sources suggesting they have requested Manchester United's Rasmus Hojlund plus £33.6 million for Osimhen's signature.

Peter Okoye, one half of the famous P-Square duo, has maintained a close relationship with Osimhen and has previously been involved in discussions regarding the player's career moves. His involvement, alongside Mikel Obi, represents an unusual but potentially influential channel in football transfer negotiations.

Osimhen is expected to announce a decision on his future next week, according to reports, as the summer transfer window approaches and clubs begin to finalize their recruitment plans for the upcoming season.

Chelsea fans will be watching closely as these developments unfold, with many hoping that the combined influence of Okoye and Obi might help bring the Nigerian striker to Stamford Bridge this summer.
